I CHOOSE YOU
WHERE TO START?! This day was perfect in every way. The weather was surprising for the end of May but it DELIVERED the best lighting and landscape I could've asked for as a photographer. We were high up in the mountains, far down the road of Cascadel Woods by Rock Creek for their special day. The weather was giving us both sunshine & a blizzard snow storm. Not gonna lie, driving up I was getting pretty nervous as the weather got more aggressive since this was my first wedding EVER.
This wedding was a barefoot, woodsy, elegant dream - there was a calmness you felt immediately upon arrival. The bride Shelby, who was about 20 weeks pregnant at the time was GLOWING. Oddly enough she was the calmest out of EVERYONE, a literal angel of a bride. After going through the motions of getting ready with Shelby, it was team to walk down the aisle. Shelby's dad Albert MELTED my heart. The moment he laid eyes on Shelby he started to ball. The emotion made me cry, that I hid because I wanted to get ALLLL the shots LOL! It had been snowing steady and the sky seemed to open up just for us, giving soft, small, slow falling snow flakes. Walking down the aisle Albert gave Shelby away to Blaze and it was another hard tug on my heart strings. The bride and groom exchanged vows and more tears fell from my cheek as I captured this special moment. When I say their love for each other is nothing like I've seen before I mean it - watching them look at one another & listening to them exchange vows solidified the absolute pure and genuine love they have for one another.
After the ceremony came the reception with all the dances. The bride and groom shared their first dance next to a warm bonfire and embraced each other the whole time. The father and daughter dance brought more tears to everyone's eyes & the mother and daughter dance followed. Shelby & Blaze followed the dancing with communion and dinner. The day was picture perfect, it was one of those things that makes your heart happy. To say it was a privilege to capture their love is an understatement, especially since they were every photographers dream as the first wedding to shoot.
Here's to Blaze & Shelby!
